Attia is a creative producer with over a decade of experience. Throughout her career she has produced exciting and thought-provoking events around NYC, launched out-of-home projects for health education, and has interviewed thought-leaders and artists for various publications.

Producer and Director

Film: Mount Sinai and NYC Health + Hospitals

In partnership with Mount Sinai and NYC Health + Hospitals, Attia produced 5 short films to promote their free doula services in Queens and Elmhurst NYC. The films were created in five languages to raise awareness about the importance and function of doula care amongst communities of color and for people who face houselessness, food insecurity, and incarceration.

Feminist Designer on MIT Press

Feminist Designer: On the Personal and the Political in Design, edited by Alison Place, brings together a constellation of voices and perspectives to examine the intersection of design and feminist theory. The first book in nearly three decades to address such practices in design, Feminist Designer contains essays, case studies, and dialogues by 43 contributors from 18 different countries.

Record Shop (Short Film)

A short film written and directed by Mario Rubén Carrión in Spring 2022. The film is an official selection of The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF), The New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF), and The Philadelphia Latino Film Festival.

 

Founder and Editor-in-Chief

Womanly Magazine

Since 2017, as the executive director and editor-in-chief of Womanly, Attia has launched and distributed 6 print and 2 digital issues of the indie publication. Featuring hundreds of stories, interviews, videos, and health information for women and non binary individuals.

 

Event Producer

The Women’s Prison Association

In March 2023, Attia planned and hosted a fundraiser for WPA at Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan. Other events include a networking event with The Sill, and a workshop on stress relief for Microsoft.
